The Original Feeds Original event on February 21, 2025, was a night Braamfontein won’t soon forget. Held at the chic Thirteen venue on the 13th floor of 73 Juta Street, the evening was a seamless blend of urban cool and effortless sophistication.
A red car parked stylishly under the overpass set the tone for a night of creativity and culture. Inside, tastemakers from various creative fields mingled, exchanging ideas in an atmosphere charged with anticipation. The event, presented by KFC Streetwise, kicked off at 19:00, with every detail meticulously curated. Lively conversations, laughter, and the irresistible aroma of KFC’s signature dishes filled the space. The menu featured a fusion of classic flavours with modern twists, reinforcing the brand’s commitment to innovation while staying true to its roots.

The night’s defining moment came with the announcement of a collaboration between KFC and artists Blxckie, Khuli Chana, and 25K. As the lights dimmed and the spotlight hit the stage, the crowd erupted in cheers. Khuli Chana, a legend in South African hip-hop, was the first to perform. His charismatic stage presence and thought-provoking verses had the audience on their feet, especially during Hape Le Hape and Mnatebawen.
Blxckie followed, delivering raw energy and sharp lyricism. Dressed in a sleek black ensemble, he powered through hits like Godly, Mntase, and Ye x4, keeping the momentum high. Finally, 25K took the stage, his gripping storytelling and commanding presence drawing the crowd in. Performances of Pheli Makaveli and Sosh Plata resonated deeply, cementing his status as one of the night’s standout acts.
The highlight of the evening was the live debut of the Originals Anthem, a track embodying the spirit of the campaign. As the artists performed, the audience sang along, their excitement palpable in every cheer and applause.
In every sense, Original Feeds Original was a celebration of creativity, from the music to the people to the food. The event captured the essence of originality, leaving a lasting impression on all who attended.
